Alex Tyrrell Wins Men’s Foul Shooting Competition at USCAA Tournament
Sophomore Alex Tyrrell won the Men’s Division Foul Shooting Competition at the USCAA National Championship Tournament. Twenty USCAA men’s teams entered a foul shooter into the competition. In the preliminary round, each foul shooter had ten shots. Tyrrell hit eight of ten in the first round to earn a spot in the four-man semi-final. Alex hit nine of ten shots in the semi final round to secure a spot in the finals. He then repeated his nine of ten performance to win the championship.
Alex was among the top free throw shooters in the nation, hitting 87.5% from the free throw line.
The USCAA Tournament, by tradition, opens with a three part skills competition: a three point shooting contest; a dunking competition and a free throw shooting competition.
