Lady Knights Secure Spot in YSCC Playoffs
Baker's triple-double keys victory over Unity
Unity, ME- The Vermont Tech Women's basketball team won their last regular season conference game Wednesday night, February 15th on the road against Unity College, 57-27.
With the win the Lady Knights secured a spot in the Yankee Small College Conference playoffs. They will face #1 seeded University of Maine-Augusta on Thursday, February 23rd at NHTI in Concord, NH.
Sophomore point guard Ama Baker (Fitchburg, MA) garnered the first triple double of the season for the Knights. She ended with 28 points, 14 rebounds, 10 steals and 5 assists. Junior Kelly Vellek (Burlington, VT) was not too far behind her teammate, as she finished with 23 points, 8 steals, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
The next contests for the ladies will be Friday, February 17th as they host the Owls of the University of Maine-Preque Isle at 530pm.
