Randolph Center, VT: The Vermont State Randolph Men's Basketball team hosted two home games to end the first semester. Last Wednesday, the Knights hosted the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College in a pivotal matchup in the Yankee College Conference. The Knights got off to a fast starting the game on a 21-6 run. The Knights controlled the game down the strectch with the Bobcats only able to get within 7 seven in the second half. Jaylon Calvin had a triple double including 18 points, 12 rebounds and a career high 17 assists. Xavier Ivey and Jaden Clark had 16 and 12 respectively as the Knights went on to win 80-70.
On Saturday, the Knights took on a long time Yankee Conference rival Southern Maine Community College to close out the semester. A stingy defensive first half bty the Knights held the Seawolves to 15 points in the first half. Five first half threes by Xzavier Ivey help the Knights take a 44-15 lead into the half. The Knights hot shooting continued in the second as they closed out a dominated performance to end the semester and go into the break .500 in the conference. Ivey finished with 16 points. Landon Mashburn finished with 15 points including an emphatic dunk in the first half. Jaylon Calvin did Jaylon Calvin like things finishing with 17 points, 11 assist and 7 rebounds. The Knights will go into the break 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
The Knights return to action on January 9th at New England College.
