Lady Knights score 30 points in the 4th quarter to get the win against NHTI.
The lady Knight pulled away with a win despite it being a back and forth battle all night.
Randolph, Vermont-- In a matchup that featured two elite conference foes. The lady Knight pulled away with a win despite it being a back and forth battle all night. The Lady Linx was no pushover, Michaella Biron played 38 mins, scoring a scorching 34 points on 12-31 shooting and 4-9 from the arc. "She is one of the most impressive scoring guards I have seen in the USCAA. She is tough to guard."
The Lady Knight's, on the other hand, were overall more impressive with a balanced attack that mimicked a swarm of wasps on both the offense and defensive side.
Scoring 66 points in the paint, while defending the paint and holding the Linx to 34 points in the paint. Lady Knights forced NHTI into 16 turnovers while scoring 27 points off those turnovers. "Aggressive turnovers do not both me, stated coach Miller. We tend to figure things out right away. Each lady takes pride in not turning over the basketball that pride motivates them to get back and defend. We committed 24 turnovers and gave them 23 points. That's a win in my eyes." The biggest payoff was bench points. VTC had 35 bench points to NHTI's 19. Moving Farah Mesidor and Deja Cook to the bench proved very effective. Both combined for 31 points 15-24 shooting, playing 20 minutes off the bench. Junior guard, Kimah Stribling led the team in scoring with 23 points 9 assist and 7 rebounds.
The real stars of the evening were Kiana Royer and Hannah Sheehe. They dismantled the Linx on both ends of the floor. Senior guard Kiana Royer nearly notched a triple-double with 10 points 14 rebounds and 9 assists.
"The move to Royer at the starting point guard spot paid dividends. Six players with double-digit scoring. I am looking forward to seeing her grow in that spot."
The Lady Knights move into the fourth spot in the YSCC and will get much-needed rest for the Thanksgiving break, returning on the road to face conference foe Great Bay CC on December 5th at 6:00 p.m.
