
Knights Pass First Round Test
Beat PSU DuBois 79-50, play in semifinals Friday, 3/9 at 4pm

Uniontown, PA - The 5th seeded Vermont Tech Knights jumped at the opportunity put before them at the USCAA DII Basketball Nationals by defeating #4 Penn State DuBois 79-50. The win propelled the men to the semifinal round.
The Knights took control of the game early, while despite PSU scoring the first basket, Vermont Tech was able to impose their will by using the first 9 minutes of the game to go up 22-6. Senior All-American Kevin Carr (Westminster, MD) scored 11 points during the run, on his way to a game high 25, including 5 3s. Vermont Tech continued their onslaught, getting much help from the outside with Carr and on the inside from Senior Center Josh Lindsey (Palm Bay, FL) who collected 13 of his 15 rebounds in the first half, as well as scoring 7 of his 12 total points in the period. The half ended with DuBois reeling and the Knights up 46-19.
The second half saw the Knights hold steady with their lead, using smart play to run the clock while protecting their sizable margin on the scoreboard. Vermont Tech was extremely efficient on the offensive end, shooting 42% and were able to convert turnovers directly to points throughout the entire game, scoring 29 points from the 20 turnovers of DuBois. Frshman Lucas Dutil (Barre, VT) had a solid game contributing 11, while Senior Yawo Eko Agbodenou (Togo, Africa) came up huge for the Knights by adding 14 points and a distinct toughness in the paint. DuBois, without their All-American and leading scorer in Chris Dickison due to a one-game suspension, was led by John Hau, who finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
The Knights next face 8th seeded Berkely College of NY, who today took down #1 Central Penn, Friday, March 9 at 4pm. The game will again be live online at:
