Randolph Center, VT - The Knights played a new opponent this weekend in Bryant & Stratton Albany. The game was well matched despite the shot on goal advantage by the Bobcats (20-7). The visitors opened the scoring right away after 42 secons on the Knights, who didn't seem ready for a quick attack off the kickoff. The Knights countered in the 8th minute with a goal by Haley Mattison, off a beautiful play and assist by Cassandra Pelkey that beat the defense. The Bobcats scored again in the 14th minute to ride a 2-1 lead until the half. The Knights started strong in the second half on another goal by Haley Mattison to even the score at 2 apiece in the 49th minute. The Bobcats came back again with 2 unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead. After a third coal by the Bobcats, the Knights pulled it together again to score on a smooth step by Brooke Bove, bringing the Knights closer, but still down 3-5 with just 8 minutes to play. The Bobcats scored again to cap their victory with 6 goals, but the Knights never gave up. Haley Mattison earned a hat trick for the game on a late goal with just over a minute left to play on another crossing assist from Cassandra Pelkey. Despite the valiant effort, the Knights lost the game 6-4.
The Knights finish their conference season this week.
