Randolph Center, VT - The current top ranked team in the Yankee Small College Conference, Paul Smith's College, was simply too strong for the Lady Knights of Vermont Tech as the road team came into Randolph and captured a 5-1 victory.
On a chilly rainy day, Paul Smith's College was able to score early and often in their win over the ladies of Vermont Tech. Nicole Landry was the star of the day, scoring four goals on the day, her first at just 13:20 into the game. She added another in the first half barely ten minutes later, and continued her stellar play with another two in the second.
Ashley Lockerby (Sr./Enosburg, VT) broke the home team's two-game scoreless streak by finding the back of the net at 51:47 in the second half. She led the team in shots, finishing with five total, four on goal.
Mallory Fischer (Fr./Jericho, VT) made 13 saves in net for the Knights, while the visitors took a total of 25 shots, 18 of those on goal.
The ladies are now 3-8, 1-4 on the season, and have over a week to contemplate the rest of the year. The next three games for the Knights are all on the road during the school's October Break Week. First they will again take on Paul Smith's on Monday the 8th, followed by a trip to Maine face the University Maine on Wednesday the 10th at Machias and Southern Maine CC on Thursday the 11th.
