Green Knight Women Bested by Bobcats

Junior Ashley Lockeryby (Enosburg Falls, VT) started off the scoring early in the game when she knocked in a goal at 38:09 in the first half for Vermont Tech. Unfortunately for the Green Knights, Paul Smith's College's Freshman Kara Nipper (Phoenix, NY) countered with a goal of her own only two minutes later. Bobcat Senior Joelle Guisti (Amsterdam, NY) added another at the 19:41 mark, to lead her team into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.

The second half saw a barrage of shots lofted towards Green Knight Senior Goalie Abbie Senesac (Williston, VT). Despite a number of incredible saves on what the opposing team thought would be sure goals, she eventually could not hold off the offensive onslaught from the Bobcats. The opponets scored the next four goals of the game, and while Lockerby broke the streak by netting her second of the game, the home team still lost 6-2. Lockerby was the only offense of the day for VTC, taking all of the team's five shots vs 22 from Paul Smith's.

Paul Smith's College is now 2-2, 2-0 YSCC, while the Knights fall to 1-4, 1-2. Smith's next plays on the road on Saturday, September 17 at St. Joseph's College (VT). Vermont Tech also faces a road battle, travelling to Hampshire College for a 1pm match on the same date.
