Knights Earn 5th victory
Nick “Get Buckets” Simpson notched his second forty plus game of the season as he poured in 41 points in a hard fought 89-79 victory against Eastern Maine on November 20. The Knights ran their winning streak to five games and are now a perfect 4-0 in the Yankee Small College Conference.
Simpson proved unstoppable as he hit 52% of his shots from the field, including three shots from beyond the arc. Nick went to the foul line for 17 shots and made 14.
Alex Tyrrell was saddled with foul trouble for much of the game. Nevertheless he scored 18 points, including six consecutive points at the midway point of the second half to open a ten point lead.
Kevin Carr added 15 points. Trent Roleau and Josh Lindsey dominated the defensive backboards.
“Eastern Maine is a very tough ballclub,” said Coach John Dyer after the game. “They are going to do some damage in the YSCC this season. I really happy we played them early in the season because this team is going to really improve as the season goes on. When playoff time comes around, they will be trouble.”
